Inspired by a mutual commitment to uncompromising style, SOREL and Concepts have joined forces to create six exclusive boots for Fall 2011.
The collection combines the refined and rugged style inherent to SOREL with precise curation from Concepts. The result is a refreshing and sophisticated collection of boots as at home in a winter storm as they are in more sartorial settings – perfect for the discerning urban explorer.
THE TANNERY / CONCEPTS
The Tannery of Boston and Cambridge is the preeminent lifestyle retailer in the Northeast. Always the innovator, The Tannery was recognized by Footwear News as the “First and best at using a concept shop / store-within-a-store environment to enhance the brands showcased and the customer’s shopping experience.” The Tannery’s unique store-within-a-store, Concepts, allows customers to experience each brand’s complete line or “story” as they change each season.
Concepts always seeks to develop an original and diverse point of view as original retail curators, and has evolved into one of the most respected cult stores worldwide, retailing rare and emergent products from opinion-leading brands around the world.
WOMEN’S LIFTLINE™ – Launch Date: October 14
Slightly unexpected yet exactly on trend, the Liftline channels the craft and tradition of the tiny Fair Isle from whence its famous knits hail. The subtle pattern marries with rich full grain leather, understated topstitching and a refined silhouette. Buttery soft fleece lining keeps feet warm, while the rugged rubber sole ensures superior traction.
MEN’S KITCHNER™ HIGH – Launch Date: October 14 (US); November 15 (EU)
Channeling the heather-flecked hills of the tiny Fair Isle, these rich boots manage to be both stoic and sartorial. Full grain, waterproof leather repels the weather while the vulcanized rubber shell rounds out a protective package worthy of both wind-whipped plains and rain-soaked city streets. Custom print sweater knit fabric amps up the texture, providing a soft contrast to the Kitchner’s sturdy structure and strong details.
MEN’S SENTRY™ BOOT – Launch Date: November 11 (US); November 15 (EU)
Pop the color or keep it subtle, depending on your mood. The Sentry comes with two removable felt liners and two lace options (both offered in red and brown). Modeled after our original classic logging boot, but scaled down to be lighter and more comfortable, the Sentry channels the grit and spirit of a more rugged time. The waterproof full grain leather upper and vulcanized rubber shell lock out the weather, while leather laces and elegant brass grommets provide sartorial details worthy of kicking up your cuff.
WOMEN’S CATE THE GREAT™ – Launch Date: November 11 (US); November 15 (EU)
Named after a Russian empress, and inspired by a pair of Cree winter moccasins, this boot is equal parts beauty and bold. Rich, brown leather has been whipstitched by hand in homage to the care and craft that underpins the centuries-old Fair Isle tradition. Felt details and natural leather laces elevate textural contrast while the impermeable vulcanized rubber shell provides durability. A plush, recycled felt inner boot and bonded felt frost plug combine to keep feet warm down to -25º, because a little inclement weather should never get in the way of a woman destined for greatness.
WOMEN’S TOFINO™ LEATHER – Launch Date: Mid-January
Rich, premium pulled leather, that gets better with each wear, is amped up with daring details: leather shell construction with red pop storm welt, laser-etched leopard print on the upper, faux fur at the collar and beautiful hardware. Strategic hits of red add pop and polish to bring waterproof sophistication to all your wintery wanderings. WOMEN’S TOFINO™ WAXED CANVAS – Launch Date: Mid-January
In the spirit of cold-weather fashion dominance, we took a color cue from the classic SOREL Caribou and infused it with a little extra “ooh la la” to create a boot that loves to be looked at. The leopard print waxed canvas upper and faux fur collar bring bold style, while exquisite hardware and leather detailing lend rugged refinement. Fully waterproof and lined with lush fleece, the Tofino keeps feet warm and dry whether you’re stomping through a storm, or just working it on a windswept city sidewalk.
